Bali is a small Indonesian island off the south east tip of Java. Locally, it is known as “Pulau Dewa” or “Island of the Gods”. The picturesque, volcanic island is ringed by coral reefs. Our Blue Krishna, organic beans are grown by smallholder Kintamani farmers who are organized through Subak Abian (SA), a traditional structure of farm organization founded on the Hindu philosophy of “Tri Hita Karana” (meaning the three causes of happiness). Each SA democratically establishes its own written rules, the so called “awig-awig”, to form village coops. Farmers use shade trees such as Erythrina, Albizia, Tangerine, and Orange to improve both yield and cup quality.

This fine arabica is grown in the central highlands and is characterized by a smooth, full bodied fruityness bordering on wine-like, but without a hint of sharpness. In a vienna roast, there is a mild smokey, sweet finish.
