The Santa Leticia Farm was started in 1870 by Francisco Mendez, the father of the education system of El Salvador. Presently owned and managed by the fourth and fifth generation coffee growers, the farm has thousands of shade trees, contributing to the biodiversity of the area. The land has been the site of archeological finds yielding ancient Mayan artifacts. The bean is a cross of Maragogype, Paca, and Typica varietals. |
