In the 17th century a Sufi saint named Baba Budan smuggled a handful of beans out of Yemen and began coffee cultivation in this region that soon spread throughout Asia and the Americas. Sourced from smallholder farms in the Western Ghats mountain range, an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
